The initiative is part of ongoing efforts to enhance digital literacy and promote responsible online behavior across Pakistan. The program brought together representatives from multiple cities to strengthen awareness around emerging online risks and improve community level engagement on digital safety.

According to the press release issued on February 12, 2026, the program aimed to equip participants with practical skills to address online threats including fraud, hacking, impersonation, privacy concerns and misinformation. Representatives from Islamabad, Quetta, Sukkur, Lahore, Karachi, Swabi, Mardan and Peshawar participated in the training, reflecting nationwide outreach. Through structured sessions and interactive discussions, the initiative focused on building capacity among trainers who can further disseminate knowledge within their respective communities and institutions.

Experts from PTA and partner organizations conducted sessions covering cyber hygiene, child online protection, platform safety tools, reporting mechanisms and responsible digital citizenship. The sessions were designed to provide participants with actionable guidance on identifying harmful online activity, using in app safety features effectively and promoting a culture of accountability in digital spaces. By emphasizing preventive measures and awareness, the program sought to strengthen community resilience against online exploitation and misinformation.

Dr Khawar Siddique Khokhar, Member Compliance and Enforcement at PTA, highlighted the importance of collective efforts in promoting safe and responsible social media use. He reaffirmed PTA commitment to fostering a secure and responsible digital environment across Pakistan through collaboration with technology platforms and civil society organizations. The initiative aligns with broader national objectives to strengthen digital governance, protect online users and ensure safer engagement on social media platforms as internet penetration and digital adoption continue to grow across the country.
