PSEB has wrapped up another cohort of its Soft Skills Training initiative in Lahore, with participants and trainers reflecting on the practical outcomes of a programme designed to address one of the most persistent gaps in Pakistan’s information and communication technology workforce development landscape: the space between technical competence and professional effectiveness in a global work environment.

The Lahore cohort covered a range of professional development areas including communication, leadership, teamwork, and workplace confidence, areas that are increasingly cited by employers and clients in international markets as differentiators when evaluating talent from emerging technology economies. Feedback from participants highlighted tangible shifts in how they approach professional interactions, collaborative work, and client-facing responsibilities, suggesting the training is delivering outcomes that extend beyond classroom learning into actual day-to-day professional behaviour. Trainers also noted the responsiveness of participants across the cohort, pointing to strong engagement levels and a genuine appetite for the kind of structured professional development that formal technology education programmes typically do not include.

The initiative is being delivered in partnership with Liaison Corporation Private Limited under the broader Tech Destination Pakistan umbrella of the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, and forms part of PSEB’s ongoing effort to make Pakistan’s information and communication technology export workforce more competitive at the international level. As Pakistani technology firms increasingly target clients in North America, Europe, and the Middle East, the ability of professionals to communicate clearly, lead teams, and build relationships across cultural contexts has become as commercially important as technical skill. Professionals interested in joining upcoming soft skills training cohorts can register through the official portal.

Launched in 1967 internationally, ComputerWorld is the oldest tech magazine/media property in the world. In Pakistan, ComputerWorld was launched in 1995. Initially providing news to IT executives only, once CIO Pakistan, its sister brand from the same family, was launched and took over the enterprise reporting domain in Pakistan, CWPK has emerged as a holistic technology media platform reporting everything tech in the country. It remains the oldest continuous IT publishing brand in the country and in 2025 is set to turn 30 years old, which will be its biggest benchmark and a legacy it hopes to continue for years to come.
