Punjab Safe Cities Authority has introduced an online portal allowing citizens across the province to challenge and cancel wrongly issued e-challans without visiting any office. The new system enables residents who believe they have received an incorrect traffic violation notice through camera based monitoring to file a review request digitally, eliminating the need for in-person visits to authority offices.
Under the process, citizens must first log on to the official website and either register for a new account or sign in to an existing one. They can then access the Review Section on the portal and submit a form along with supporting documents and evidence backing their claim, giving them a structured way to dispute a challan they believe was issued incorrectly.
Once a request is submitted, a dedicated Safe City team examines the challan alongside the evidence provided by the applicant. If the review confirms that the e-challan was issued in error or due to a technical fault, the team cancels it permanently from the system within 24 hours, giving applicants a relatively fast turnaround compared to what an in-person appeals process might require.
The authority said the initiative is aimed at saving the time of citizens and improving transparency in the enforcement of traffic laws across the province. The portal adds to Punjab Safe Cities Authority’s broader camera based enforcement infrastructure, which has expanded significantly since the authority’s establishment in 2015 and now covers major cities including Lahore, Multan, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Bahawalpur, and Sargodha, giving the review system a wide base of e-challans it may need to process going forward.
