Pokémon is that cartoon that children in past decade or two, grew up watching and ultimately loving it with a passion. Pokémon is a great big franchise which has its own anime, movies, collectors’ cards, video games etc.
There was a point where at one point children would come rushing from school and finish all the things their mother would tell them to do and sit and watch this amazing show called Pokémon. So it’s safe to say that whereas Pokémon was and still is loved by the children back then, and adults now, it was sort of a hurdle for parents to get the kids away from the TV.
There is good news coming up for all the Pokémon fans, the Pokémon Company and Niantic along with Nintendo are gearing up to release a new mobile game for Android and Apple users. This game is perhaps the most anticipated mobile game, which is set to release in 2016 marking the 20th anniversary of Pokémon, although there are many speculations on the official date.
This new Pokémon game will be following the footsteps of a game called Ingress; therefore the players will be able to catch virtual Pokémon in real life settings.
Mr. Ishihara the CEO of The Pokémon Company spoke about the game in their press release.
‘’ These days, I think there are a lot of people who are always looking down at their phones and aren’t paying attention to their surroundings. I hope that Pokémon GO will be enjoyed by players across a wide range of ages. Alongside Nintendo, we developed a device that allows players to engage with the game without constantly needing to stare down at their Smartphone’s screen. This is what we’re calling Pokémon Go Plus. Pokémon GO Plus uses flashing LEDs and vibrations to notify the player of in-game events, such as the appearance of a nearby Pikachu, for example. It uses Bluetooth to pair with an iPhone or Android device. It transmits data back and forth, and by pressing the button in the center, certain simple actions, such as throwing a Poké Ball, can be performed.’’
Furthermore fans of the Pokémon have high expectations of the game, whereas some are guessing it won’t live up to the hype created. Despite the speculations fans are waiting for this app to grace the Play Store and App store soon so they can finally have some Pokémon battles and perfect their Pokedex. Fans of Pokémon however are still trying to interpret what Pokémon will be found where in their cities, as the makers of the game have indicated that players may find Pikachu under the Eiffel tower or Squirtle hiding along the waterfronts of San Francisco.
Pokémon GO will be free of cost with in-app purchases although Pokémon Go Plus which is a band that the player put on their wrist will have to be purchased.
