The Planning Commission of Pakistan has officially opened applications for the highly competitive Young Development Fellow Program, inviting top young professionals and graduates from across the country to contribute to national development initiatives through a one-year fellowship. Designed to attract fresh talent and innovative thinkers, the program offers a unique opportunity for participants to work closely with senior policymakers, gaining firsthand experience in shaping strategies that impact Pakistan’s socio-economic and digital transformation objectives.

Fellows selected under this program will be involved in a range of development-focused projects spanning sectors such as economic planning, public policy, governance, social development, and technology-driven solutions. The initiative emphasizes hands-on engagement, allowing participants to support research, policy drafting, and strategic implementation of key government programs. Through mentorship and collaborative work, fellows will have the chance to build practical skills while contributing to evidence-based policy solutions that align with Pakistan’s national priorities.

The program also aims to foster leadership and professional growth among Pakistan’s young talent. Participants are expected to bring innovative ideas, analytical rigor, and a results-oriented mindset to their assignments. Exposure to high-level planning processes, cross-departmental coordination, and stakeholder engagement will equip fellows with the tools to become future leaders in public service, policy, and development sectors. The fellowship provides a structured platform for networking with government officials, development partners, and industry experts, reinforcing the bridge between policy, implementation, and societal impact.

Interested candidates are encouraged to apply online through the Planning Commission’s official career portal here. The selection process is highly competitive, focusing on academic excellence, problem-solving ability, and a demonstrated commitment to contributing to Pakistan’s development agenda. This initiative reflects the government’s continued effort to engage young professionals in meaningful national projects, nurturing a generation equipped to drive innovation, efficiency, and impactful change in public policy and development practice. The Young Development Fellow Program stands out as a platform for talent to influence policy outcomes while gaining unparalleled exposure to governance and developmental frameworks across Pakistan.
