On Wednesday Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) launched an online portal to facilitate the business registration process at Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI).

The website has been developed by the PITB for LCCI for companies’ registrations. Through the website the owners will be able to submit all documents online. A tracking mechanism has also been added to keep the users updated about the progress of their application.

The portal is only been made functional in the Lahore district boundary for now, and it will soon be extended to the rest of the districts in Punjab.

In order to cater any queries/issues regarding the portal, the government has also dedicated a telephone helpline which can be accessed by dialing 042-111-425-725.The portal revolves around the tagline of, “Anytime, anywhere”, indicating the ease of business registration which comes with it.

As a result of this online facility, the registration processing time has been reduced from approximately 17 days to 2 days. The portal not only ensures timely issuance of online registration certificates but it also provides a tracking mechanism for the applications thus making the process more transparent.

The launching ceremony took place at the LCCI and was attended by Chairman PITB Dr Umar Saif, Provincial Minister for Finance Ayesha Pasha, and Malik Tahir Javaid, the President LCCI among many other high order officials.
