Punjab Information Technology Board successfully facilitated the computerized balloting process for the CM Punjab Rahmat Card Program, supporting the government’s efforts to deliver welfare services through a transparent and technology driven system. The ceremony was chaired by Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Punjab on Zakat and Ushr Rashid Iqbal Nasrullah and attended by Secretary Zakat and Ushr Ifran Ahmad Sindhu, along with representatives from the Zakat and Ushr Department, Punjab Information Technology Board, JazzCash and the Directorate General Public Relations. Punjab Information Technology Board was represented by Director Badar Munir and Joint Directors Mahmood Hanif and Waqas Muzaffar.

The computerized balloting was conducted to select beneficiaries from eligible applicants following a rigorous digital verification process. During the ceremony, the Special Assistant to the Chief Minister formally initiated the computerized draw and expressed satisfaction with the transparency, fairness and integrity of the technology enabled selection process. The use of digital systems was aimed at ensuring that beneficiary selection was carried out accurately while minimizing manual intervention.

Officials from the Zakat and Ushr Department acknowledged Punjab Information Technology Board’s contribution in developing and implementing the digital ecosystem supporting the CM Punjab Rahmat Card Program. They appreciated the team’s efforts in delivering the solution within a limited timeframe while ensuring smooth execution of the computerized balloting process. The collaboration between government departments and technology partners reflects the increasing use of digital platforms to improve the delivery of public welfare initiatives across Punjab.

The CM Punjab Rahmat Card Program represents another step in expanding technology based public service delivery in the province. Following the completion of the computerized balloting process, the next phase of the program will focus on distributing financial assistance to the selected beneficiaries. The initiative highlights the growing role of digital governance in improving transparency, efficiency and accountability in welfare programs while supporting the government’s broader digital transformation objectives.
