Pakistan’s higher education sector has made significant strides, as evidenced by the latest QS World University Rankings: Asia 2025. A total of 70 Pakistani universities were included in the rankings, with two institutions securing top-100 positions in the region.
The National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) and Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU) emerged as Pakistan’s top-performing universities, ranking 67th and 84th, respectively. Other notable institutions include Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), COMSATS University Islamabad, and the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore.
The QS World University Rankings assess universities based on several key factors, including academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty-student ratio, citations per paper, and international research network. The inclusion of a significant number of Pakistani universities in this prestigious ranking reflects the growing quality and impact of higher education in the country.
