Pakistan Software Export Board and Alliance PKU Management Consultants formally signed an agreement to initiate the “Shenzhen-Inspired Information and Communication Technology Education and Training Roadmap for Pakistan,” marking a significant milestone in the development of the country’s digital workforce. The contract signing ceremony was attended by Honourable Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication, Shaza Khawaja, and was executed by Chief Executive Officer of Pakistan Software Export Board, Faisal Jeddy, and Chief Operating Officer of Alliance PKU Management Consultants, Hank Xianyang Shao. The collaboration is part of Pakistan’s strategic effort to strengthen its information and communication technology sector and enhance the alignment between education, industry, and innovation.
The roadmap aims to build upon the vision of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to foster a robust digital economy, ensuring that Pakistan develops a globally competitive technology workforce. By studying Shenzhen’s approach to synchronizing education with industry needs and innovation, the initiative intends to generate actionable recommendations to enhance the country’s information and communication technology talent ecosystem. The project is expected to support sustainable growth in information technology exports, equip graduates and professionals with practical skills required by the industry, and prepare a workforce capable of contributing to technology-driven economic development.
The study will examine how Shenzhen has effectively integrated education, industry partnerships, and technological innovation to cultivate a dynamic technology ecosystem. By identifying key practices and models, the roadmap will guide Pakistan in designing curriculum development programs, professional training initiatives, and industry-aligned skill-building strategies. The initiative will also emphasize the creation of an education-to-employment pipeline that ensures graduates are ready to meet the requirements of Pakistan’s growing information and communication technology sector and the global market.
Federal Minister Shaza Khawaja highlighted the importance of such collaborative initiatives, stating that developing a skilled information and communication technology workforce is crucial for economic progress and innovation. She emphasized that adopting global best practices, particularly those demonstrated by Shenzhen, will strengthen Pakistan’s digital industry and contribute to the country’s position in international technology markets. The initiative will also foster entrepreneurship, promote innovation, and support the emergence of a future-ready workforce capable of responding to the rapidly evolving technology landscape.
The partnership between Pakistan Software Export Board and Alliance PKU Management Consultants reflects the government’s commitment to digital transformation, workforce development, and sustainable growth in the technology sector.
