Pakistan Single Window and the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan have signed a Memorandum of Understanding at TDAP’s headquarters in Karachi, formalising a strategic partnership aimed at accelerating the digitalization of Pakistan’s trade ecosystem and delivering integrated, real-time services to the country’s export and import community. As the lead entity for Pakistan’s digital trade transformation, PSW will work closely with TDAP to harmonise export facilitation processes and integrate key digital platforms, including TDAP’s Pakistan Trade Portal and Exporters Directory, into the broader PSW environment, with the integration designed to ensure that traders have seamless, real-time access to vital trade information and services while reducing reliance on manual procedures.
Under the collaboration, TDAP will now have direct access to PSW data, enabling more informed, data-driven trade facilitation, while TDAP’s Pakistan Trade Portal and Exporters Directory will be integrated with PSW, making it easier for exporters to access opportunities and services through a single, seamless platform. The shift from fragmented, agency-specific portals to a unified digital environment is central to PSW’s mandate, which was established precisely to eliminate the inefficiency of requiring exporters and importers to interact with multiple government systems separately. Pulling TDAP’s platforms into the PSW environment means traders can access trade development resources, market intelligence, and compliance tools without leaving the single-window framework, reducing both friction and processing time.
The collaboration also places strong emphasis on data-driven decision-making, with the two organisations engaging in secure trade data-sharing to support market analysis and the development of evidence-based policies aimed at benefiting the local trade community. The initiative includes the joint development of export-readiness toolkits and compliance checklists to help small and medium-sized enterprises better navigate global market requirements. The partnership will also involve joint capacity-building sessions, where PSW will provide orientation for TDAP officers on new digital modules and regulatory updates, ensuring that both organisations provide consistent, high-quality guidance to the trade community.
A significant component of the MoU is its focus on gender-responsive trade facilitation, with PSW and TDAP coordinating efforts to enhance the export readiness and digital inclusion of women-led enterprises, including encouraging entrepreneurs from the WTO Award-winning Khadijah Women Entrepreneurship Program to participate in international exhibitions and delegations managed under TDAP’s annual business plan. PSW Chief Executive Officer Aftab Haider described the collaboration as another step toward creating a unified, inclusive, and equitable trade ecosystem, reflecting PSW’s intent to extend digital trade facilitation not just to large established exporters but to the broader base of small businesses and women entrepreneurs who have historically been underserved by Pakistan’s trade infrastructure.
