Federal Minister for IT & Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja welcomed a business delegation from DAMAC Properties, led by Amira Sajwani, for high-level discussions aligned with Pakistan’s digital transformation agenda. The engagement focused on leveraging technology to enhance real estate operations, promote innovation, and explore opportunities for collaboration with Pakistan’s growing digital workforce. The delegation engaged with the minister on key areas including PropTech, tokenization, and technology-enabled investment models, highlighting Pakistan’s emerging potential as a destination for technology-led innovation.

During the discussions, participants explored the potential of outsourcing and collaborating with Pakistan’s tech talent, particularly in areas where digital infrastructure and expertise can support global operations. DAMAC representatives expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s youth talent pool and growing capacity in digital solutions, emphasizing confidence in the country’s readiness to support international investment in technology-driven sectors. The delegation also discussed methods for improving efficiency, liquidity, and operational performance in real estate through innovative digital solutions, pointing to global best practices as examples that could be adapted locally.

Shaza Fatima Khawaja highlighted Pakistan’s ongoing efforts under the Digital Nation Pakistan vision, noting initiatives designed to promote women’s inclusion in the digital economy. She briefed the delegation on progress with digital wallets provided to 500,000 women through BISP under the Prime Minister’s Ramadan Package. The minister emphasized that such initiatives not only enhance financial inclusion but also create a foundation for broader participation in digital economies, aligning with Pakistan’s vision of leveraging technology to empower citizens and strengthen economic outcomes.

The meeting also covered opportunities for tokenization in real estate and the adoption of PropTech to modernize investment and management practices. The minister stressed that Pakistan is actively seeking partnerships that combine international expertise with local innovation, while maintaining compliance with national regulations. The delegation acknowledged the advancements in digital systems and expressed optimism about future collaboration, recognizing the country’s growing readiness to serve as a hub for technology-enabled investment, innovation, and sustainable development in real estate and other sectors.
