The Pakistan Freelancers Association (PAFLA) successfully organized the “Future of Work (FoW)” conference last week in Karachi. This pioneering event brought together influential figures from the digital and freelancing sphere to shed light on the current and future prospects, opportunities, and challenges for individuals in Pakistan.

The conference was honored to have Mr. Kamran Tessori, the Governor of Sindh, as the Guest of Honor. Esteemed speakers such as Ayesha Mubarak Ali, Creative Director at Metavisionaries and a Forbes Asia’s 30-Under-30 awardee, Ayesh & Areesh Fatima, the youngest CCNA & MOS Certified Professionals, and Salman Noman, Pakistan’s first influencer with over 10 million subscribers on YouTube, graced the occasion with their valuable insights.

The event was proudly sponsored by United Bank Limited (UBL), a premier financial institution in Pakistan known for its widespread presence across the country. With Pakistan ranking among the top three largest markets for freelancers globally, the conference aimed to address crucial topics such as the future of freelance work, the power of collaborations in building successful partnerships, influencer marketing, entrepreneurship, innovation, digital tools and technologies, and diversity, equity, and inclusion within the ecosystem.

During his address, Tufail Ahmed Khan, CEO of PAFLA, emphasized the importance of recognizing and appreciating freelancers’ contributions, stating,

“For many years, freelancers have remained underappreciated on administrative and government levels. At PAFLA, our aim is to change that by bringing these individuals and their respective efforts to the spotlight. At this Future of Work Conference, we have taken a step towards achieving this objective.”

The conference provided participants with actionable insights and networking opportunities, enabling them to forge new connections that can drive their careers forward. Attendees gained valuable knowledge about the challenges and opportunities in the digital age and learned how to leverage them on their path to success. The various sessions throughout the conference focused on developing skills and strategies crucial for thriving in the new world of work, including effective communication, adaptability, and creativity.

The “Future of Work (FoW)” conference by PAFLA served as a pivotal platform for empowering freelancers, influencers, and entrepreneurs, and fostering a vibrant digital landscape in Pakistan.
