Former Director General Special Communications Organization, Major General (RT) Amir Azeem Bajwa, has been appointed Member Technical at Pakistan Telecommunication Authority, while Dr. Khawar Siddique Khokhar is being made Member Compliance.
The notification for the appointment of both members is to be issued shortly, and as per the track record of previous chairmen, he is most likely to be given the Chairmanship for Pakistan Telecommunication Authority.

According to ProPakistani, some seventeen candidates had been shortlisted and interviewed by a committee. They also confirmed the same, quoting a government official that,
“Member Technical is usually the chairman of the Authority and
hence, it is only a matter of time that the appointment will be notified officially”
General (RT). Amir Bajwa will be replacing Muhammad Naveed, who is member finance and has been Chairman of PTA on extemporary basis since November 13, 2017. Dr. Khawar Khokhar, will be taking place in charge of Mr. Abdul Samad.
