Pakistani travelers and businesses can now breathe a sigh of relief. NayaPay, the country’s leading fintech platform, has partnered with Alipay+ to allow users to make payments directly at over 80 million merchants across China. This first-of-its-kind collaboration marks a major leap forward for Pakistan’s fintech industry and cross-border financial cooperation.

The partnership aligns with a nationwide program launched by Ant Group in China to enhance the experience of international visitors. This program aims to make payments more convenient for travelers while simultaneously boosting business for local Chinese merchants.

Pakistani visitors to China will have two convenient options for making payments. NayaPay users can leverage their existing app to pay directly at any Alipay+ merchant, eliminating the need for a separate Chinese bank account or phone number. Alternatively, major international cards like Visa, Mastercard, JCB, Discover, and Diners Club can be linked to an Alipay app, allowing access to a wide range of local services.

The program prioritizes making payments easier and more accessible for international visitors. This includes expanding bilingual support at key locations frequented by travelers, providing comprehensive user guides for both payment options, and strengthening merchant training to ensure a seamless and welcoming experience for global consumers.

This collaboration transcends mere convenience; it represents a significant step forward in the financial relationship between Pakistan and China. It opens new avenues for cross-border transactions and symbolizes a spirit of innovation between the two nations.

Representatives from NayaPay, Visa, NUCC (China), and Ant Group all expressed their strong support for the partnership. They view it as a positive development that will benefit both travelers and businesses, while fostering cultural and economic exchange.

Launched in 2020, Alipay+ has rapidly grown into a vast network connecting millions of merchants and consumers worldwide. This partnership with NayaPay further expands Alipay+’s global reach and underscores its commitment to facilitating seamless cross-border payments.

This collaboration signifies a new era for Pakistani travelers and businesses in China. With convenient payment options and a focus on user experience, this partnership is poised to boost economic exchange and strengthen ties between the two countries.
