Mari Energies Limited has entered Pakistan’s growing digital infrastructure space with the launch of a Cloud and Artificial Intelligence platform through its wholly owned subsidiary, Mari Technologies Limited. The development marks a strategic diversification for the energy sector player into advanced technology services, aligning with national efforts to strengthen local digital capabilities and reduce reliance on offshore infrastructure. The announcement was made on January 16, 2026, highlighting the company’s intention to support enterprises, public sector organisations, and innovators with locally hosted, high performance computing resources.

The Cloud and AI platform has been developed under Sky47 Limited, a majority owned subsidiary of Mari Energies. According to the company, the facility is located at the Silicon Valley of Capital Smart City near Islamabad, positioning it within a purpose built technology and innovation zone. The location is intended to support high availability, physical security, and future scalability, while offering proximity to major urban and institutional centres. By hosting advanced digital infrastructure within Pakistan, the platform aims to address concerns related to data sovereignty, latency, and regulatory compliance that often arise when organisations rely on international cloud providers.

Sky47 has been designed to deliver secure, scalable, and sovereign digital infrastructure capable of running mission critical workloads locally. The platform targets a wide range of users, including large enterprises, government institutions, and technology driven startups that require reliable computing power and data storage within national borders. The company states that the infrastructure adheres to global standards of performance, reliability, and compliance, enabling users to deploy cloud native applications, data analytics solutions, and AI driven services without compromising on security or operational continuity.

The launch reflects a broader shift within Pakistan’s technology ecosystem toward building local cloud capacity and AI readiness. As digital services expand across banking, telecommunications, public administration, and industrial sectors, demand for domestic infrastructure capable of handling sensitive data and high volume processing has increased. Locally hosted platforms such as Sky47 are positioned to support this demand by offering alternatives to foreign cloud services, particularly for organisations operating under strict regulatory or data localisation requirements.

From a strategic perspective, the initiative also signals growing interest from traditional energy and industrial groups in technology led growth avenues. By leveraging its capital base and operational experience, Mari Energies is seeking to play a role in shaping Pakistan’s next phase of digital development. The company describes the platform as a step toward fostering innovation in cloud computing and artificial intelligence, enabling developers and institutions to experiment, build, and scale solutions within a controlled and compliant environment.

Industry observers note that the success of such platforms will depend on adoption, ecosystem partnerships, and integration with existing digital services. However, the launch of Sky47 adds momentum to Pakistan’s efforts to develop indigenous digital infrastructure and support emerging technologies. As cloud adoption and AI use cases continue to expand, locally hosted platforms are expected to play an increasingly important role in supporting economic digitisation and technological self reliance.
