The session aims to explore how financial technology is transforming economies and reshaping the global and national financial ecosystem, with a particular focus on Pakistan. The event will bring together prominent figures from the financial, banking, and technology sectors to share insights, exchange ideas, and discuss innovations driving the evolution of digital finance.

The seminar will be moderated by Muhammad Yar Hiraj, adjunct faculty at LUMS, and will feature a distinguished panel including Ali Mukhtar, Sponsor of Burq Digital Bank and representative of Fatima Fertiliser Group; Nofel Daud, Group Head of Retail Banking at Bank of Punjab; Qaiser Raza Sheikh, Executive Director at Opay Limited; Waseem Malik, Digital Payments Ecosystem Expert at Karandaaz Pakistan; and Dr. Zartash Uzmi, Professor at LUMS and a researcher at the LUMS Center for Digital Assets Research. Each speaker will contribute unique perspectives from their respective domains, providing a comprehensive understanding of how fintech innovations are shaping the next era of digital money and financial inclusion.

The event will focus on several key areas, including the growing impact of fintech on banking systems, the integration of blockchain and cryptocurrencies in modern economies, and the importance of building a secure and efficient digital financial ecosystem. Panelists will discuss emerging opportunities in Pakistan’s fintech sector, highlighting trends in payment solutions, digital banking models, and AI-driven financial platforms. Participants will also gain insights into how digital transformation is enabling financial institutions to expand access to underserved communities, contributing to economic inclusion and sustainable growth.

The seminar is expected to attract professionals, entrepreneurs, investors, and policymakers interested in finance, technology, and entrepreneurship. It will also serve as a platform for networking between industry experts and academia, enabling collaboration on innovative projects that bridge the gap between research and real-world financial applications. With its forward-looking discussions and diverse panel, LUMS continues to position itself as a hub for thought leadership in digital transformation and fintech development in Pakistan.
