Azam Mughal, Group Chief Executive Officer of SecureBeans, has announced his candidacy for a seat on the PASHA Central Executive Committee for the 2026 to 2028 term. Mughal previously served as a PASHA board member and has chaired multiple committees at both PASHA and the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry, bringing more than fifteen years of experience in cybersecurity and governance, risk and compliance leadership to his candidacy.
His manifesto opens with a call to advocate for a product based economy, arguing that Pakistani IT companies should be positioned and promoted as trusted global solution providers rather than remaining dependent on service based work alone. On national policy, he wants to partner directly with policymakers to shape business friendly regulations that build broader trust in the country’s IT sector among both local and international stakeholders. His third point centers on strengthening PASHA’s financial independence, which he argues would allow the association to serve its members without compromise or the constraints that come from limited resources.

The remaining two points of his platform focus on internal governance and industry unity. Mughal wants to ensure greater transparency in how PASHA reaches its decisions and takes action on behalf of members, arguing that clearer processes would strengthen trust within the association itself. His final commitment centers on uniting with FPCCI and other trade bodies to amplify the industry’s voice collectively, rather than having PASHA advocate for the sector’s interests in isolation.
Mughal’s candidacy comes as PASHA members prepare to vote on September 17, 2026, for the ten open seats of the Central Executive Committee, with two additional reserved seats for women entrepreneurs to be filled the following day by the newly elected committee. Based on the Election Commission’s regional structure, voting is expected to be coordinated across Islamabad and Rawalpindi, Lahore, and Karachi, where PASHA maintains its secretariat and regional offices. Voting will take place through secret ballot between 9 am and 5 pm, with original CNIC or passport required for identity verification at polling stations.
