The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police have taken a significant step to curb mobile phone snatching across the province by launching a new mobile application, “Find My Cell.” The Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Ashfaq Anwar, along with DIG IT Irfan Khan and SSP Operations Kashif Aftab Abbasi, officially introduced the app at the Malik Saad Shaheed Police Lines.

Find My Cell aims to establish a connection between local police stations and registered mobile dealers to discourage the sale of stolen phones. The CCPO explained that mobile dealers would undergo verification from police stations and associations before being registered. These registered dealers will maintain records of phone sellers using forms provided by the police, which will be uploaded to a database accessible through the Find My Cell app.

Highlighting the use of technology to combat phone snatching and theft, the CCPO emphasized the police’s commitment to implementing various measures to improve law and order in the province.
