ISLAMABAD: Kaspersky, the global cybersecurity company, has launched a new connectivity solution aimed at international travellers, including Pakistanis heading abroad for business or leisure. The newly introduced Kaspersky eSIM Store offers seamless internet access across more than 150 countries and regions, enabling users to remain connected without the hassle of physical SIM cards or the high cost of international roaming.

The eSIM Store provides a wide selection of over 2,000 affordable data plans with transparent pricing and zero roaming fees. Designed to simplify connectivity for frequent flyers, the solution is particularly useful for those looking to avoid reliance on unsecured public Wi-Fi or the inconvenience of locating and registering for a local SIM card in unfamiliar destinations.

With the adoption of eSIM-compatible devices expanding rapidly, the timing aligns with global trends. According to GSMA, the production of eSIM-enabled devices has increased tenfold over the last five years. Projections suggest that by 2028, half of all global mobile connections will be eSIM-based. This shift is driven by eSIM technology’s convenience, eliminating the need for physical SIM handling and enabling remote activation and management.

Kaspersky’s eSIM Store connects travellers with data plans offered by local telecom operators around the world. Through a single, easy-to-use digital interface, users can browse, select, and purchase plans tailored to their travel needs. They can also monitor data usage, manage top-ups, and schedule activation dates in advance to ensure connectivity the moment they arrive at their destination.

A key benefit of the solution is its ability to help users sidestep high roaming charges typically associated with international travel. By using a local eSIM plan rather than their primary mobile number abroad, users gain greater control over costs and enjoy more reliable data connections. The platform also enhances user privacy by removing the need to share identification or personal data with unfamiliar vendors abroad when purchasing local SIM cards.

The Kaspersky eSIM Store features a streamlined user interface that works across supported smartphones and tablets, offering flexibility and ease of use. This development supports the growing demand for smarter travel tools, especially among business travellers and digital nomads from markets like Pakistan where outbound travel is consistently rising.

As more devices ship with native eSIM support, services like this are becoming increasingly relevant. Kaspersky’s move into the travel connectivity space reflects a broader push within the tech industry to deliver integrated, secure, and simplified digital experiences for users on the move. With international travel rebounding, solutions that combine convenience, security, and cost-efficiency are likely to see strong uptake, particularly in regions with expanding mobile user bases.
