Junaid Memon has secured a place at the prestigious University of Oxford to pursue a DPhil in Engineering Science. This achievement is made possible with the generous support of Ismail Global and Hamid Ismail Foundation.
He graduated with a gold medal in electronics engineering from NED University of Engineering and Technology in Karachi. He furthered his education by completing a master’s degree in electrical engineering at North Carolina State University as a Fulbright scholar.
His DPhil research at Oxford will focus on groundbreaking advancements in multi-agent systems, an area with significant potential to contribute to Pakistan’s technological progress.
He has already made significant contributions to engineering research and practice in Pakistan. He played a key role in the Karachi Water Project, developing a scalable network of smart water flow meters to address the city’s water management challenges. His work on smart solutions for infrastructure has earned him recognition as an emerging leader in Pakistan’s engineering sector.
Beyond his research, Junaid Memon is passionate about education and has taught engineering at Habib University in Karachi. He was awarded the Distinguished Award in Teaching Excellence for his dedication to inspiring the next generation of Pakistani engineers.
