Jazz, Pakistan’s foremost digital operator, has teamed up with Huawei to enhance its long-haul backbone network, pushing its capacity to an innovative 400G per wavelength with the deployment of C+L band systems. This collaboration represents a groundbreaking milestone in Pakistan’s telecom infrastructure.

The substantial increase in capacity is poised to transform Jazz’s long-haul network, equipping it to meet the ever-growing demands of today’s digital terrain.

The implementation of 400G per wavelength in the long-haul network will bolster Jazz’s endeavors in cloud-based services, online gaming, live event streaming, remote medical imaging and diagnostics, fintech, edutech, and a myriad of smart city applications.

Khalid Shehzad, Chief Technology Officer at Jazz, remarked, “The decision to enhance network capacity underscores Jazz’s commitment to remaining at the forefront of technological progress, ensuring seamless connectivity and top-notch service quality for its subscribers across the nation.”

He further stated, “At Jazz, we have evolved from being a mere telecommunications company to a comprehensive tech-co with our DO1440 strategy, ensuring continuous relevance to customers throughout the day. Partnering with Huawei is in line with our vision, empowering customers beyond traditional communication and fostering their participation in Pakistan’s digital transformation and knowledge economy.”

Jazz remains dedicated to delivering world-class telecommunications solutions, setting a benchmark for excellence in the industry. Previously, the company introduced industry-leading Voice Over LTE (VoLTE) and JazzFi (WiFi calling service), rapidly amassing over 22 million and 3 million customers, respectively.
