iPhone users in Pakistan can now access fifth generation connectivity on Jazz’s network, with the operator confirming that compatible Apple devices updated to iOS 26.5 can experience fifth generation speeds within Jazz’s currently active coverage areas. With nearly 180 pilot fifth generation sites already operational across major cities and a phased expansion roadmap underway, Jazz continues to scale its next-generation network in line with device readiness, ecosystem maturity, and evolving customer demand, with coverage expected to expand progressively over time. The development marks a meaningful step forward in broadening the device ecosystem through which Pakistani consumers can access fifth generation services, given Apple’s significant installed base among the country’s smartphone users.

Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja welcomed the development on social media, saying she was excited to announce that fifth generation capability had started appearing on supported iPhone devices in Pakistan through the Apple iOS 26.5 Public Beta, describing it as a record time for Apple to have enabled the function in any country. She added that the development was an encouraging sign that Pakistan was moving closer to full-scale fifth generation readiness, and that it highlighted the steady progress being made across the entire digital ecosystem, from telecom networks and devices to software compatibility and consumer adoption. It is worth noting that by the time of the minister’s announcement, the update had already moved beyond public beta, with developer Faizan Minhas confirming in the comments that iOS 26.5 had been publicly released.

Jazz customers using compatible Apple devices can activate fifth generation by updating to the latest iOS version and enabling fifth generation settings on their devices within covered areas, while Jazz is also continuing to expand its fifth generation-compatible handset ecosystem, with several Samsung Galaxy series devices among others having recently received compatibility enablement on the Jazz fifth generation network. Commenting on the development, Khalid Shehzad, Chief Technology Officer at JazzWorld, said the availability of Jazz fifth generation support on compatible iPhones reflects the continued evolution of Pakistan’s digital ecosystem and growing readiness for next-generation connectivity experiences, adding that as networks, devices, and digital platforms continue to evolve together, the focus remains on delivering reliable, future-ready connectivity that enables richer and more seamless digital experiences for customers across Pakistan. Following the recent spectrum auction, Jazz further strengthened its spectrum portfolio with holdings across all newly introduced spectrum bands, including 700 megahertz, 2300 megahertz, 2600 megahertz, and 3500 megahertz, a strategic spectrum mix designed to support both broader coverage and high-capacity next-generation services.

Jazz’s fifth generation footprint currently covers all provincial capitals and major cities including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta, Multan, and Faisalabad, with the operator holding spectrum across all key bands secured during the March 2026 auction, a position it says will allow for a multi-layered network capable of delivering both deep coverage and high capacity as the rollout continues to scale through the remainder of the year. The development marks another important step in JazzWorld’s evolution as a digital service company, where next-generation connectivity is increasingly becoming the foundation of a broader customer experience journey spanning fintech, entertainment, gaming, cloud and enterprise solutions, digital self-care, insurtech, and healthtech. Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja also noted that the Ministry of IT and Telecom remains committed to working closely with PTA, mobile operators, device manufacturers, and global technology partners to ensure that citizens across Pakistan can benefit from secure, reliable, high-speed, and affordable next-generation connectivity as the country’s Digital Nation journey continues.
