ILMA University has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Webnet Pakistan to promote student placements, joint venture projects and collaborative initiatives, aiming to create additional career opportunities for students and strengthen connections between academic education and the professional sector. The agreement establishes a basis for cooperation between the university and the company, with a focus on improving opportunities for students and graduates to engage with industry. The partnership reflects an effort to connect university learning with workplace requirements and provide students with potential pathways into professional careers.

The MoU was signed by representatives of both organisations. Mr. Wajahat Ullah Khan, Director of Student Affairs, and Mr. Zaheer Ahmed, Head of Admissions, represented ILMA University, while Mr. Shaheer Imtiaz, Director of Development and Public Relations at Webnet Pakistan, signed on behalf of the company. Imtiaz is also an alumnus of ILMA University, bringing an alumni connection to the partnership. Mr. Waqas Badshah, Chief Executive Officer of Webnet Pakistan, attended the signing ceremony, while Ms. Arham Kamran, Project Coordinator, served as a witness. Their participation highlighted the involvement of university administration and company leadership in establishing the collaboration.

Student placements are one of the central areas identified in the agreement. Collaboration between universities and employers can help students understand professional expectations and explore opportunities to apply their academic knowledge in workplace settings. Through the partnership, ILMA University and Webnet Pakistan intend to pursue initiatives that connect students with career opportunities. However, the university’s announcement did not specify the number of placements, internship positions, recruitment timelines or particular academic programmes that will be covered under the agreement. Details of any future placement activities will therefore depend on the initiatives developed by the two organisations.

The agreement also includes joint venture projects and other collaborative initiatives, providing scope for the organisations to explore areas of mutual interest. Such cooperation can create opportunities for students and graduates to gain exposure to industry practices while enabling academic institutions and businesses to develop closer working relationships. For ILMA University, the MoU forms part of its efforts to maintain links with industry and support career development for students and alumni. For Webnet Pakistan, the arrangement establishes a channel for engagement with the university community. The announcement did not identify specific joint projects, technical areas or implementation dates, so the precise scope of future activities remains to be announced. The partnership’s outcomes will depend on how both organisations translate the agreement into practical placements, projects and collaborative programmes.
