The Punjab School Education Department has opened a new electronic transfer round for promoted teachers, educators awaiting postings and teachers working in outsourced schools, allowing eligible applicants to submit their preferences through the School Information System (SIS) portal. The online application window runs from October 15 to October 19, 2026, according to a departmental notification issued on October 15. The process is intended to facilitate teacher postings against available vacancies across the province, using the digital portal to manage applications and related administrative steps. By routing transfer requests through the SIS platform, the department is using an online system to handle posting preferences, document verification and the issuance of transfer orders. Eligible teachers have been advised to review available vacancies and submit their applications within the announced period.

The process covers three groups: teachers who have recently been promoted, those awaiting postings and teachers serving in outsourced schools. The department has directed chief executive officers of District Education Authorities to ensure that promoted teachers are correctly tagged in the SIS portal. This step is important for maintaining accurate teacher records and ensuring eligible applicants are included in the transfer process. The portal serves as the digital channel through which applicants submit their preferences for vacant positions. While the system provides an online route for processing applications, the department’s notification does not specify whether new technical features or changes have been made to the portal for this round. The announcement instead focuses on the eligibility groups, application requirements and administrative schedule for completing the transfers.

The department has set a defined timetable for processing applications submitted through the system. Online applications are being accepted from October 15 to October 19, while document verification is scheduled for October 20 to October 22. Applicants will have an opportunity to raise concerns from October 23 to October 26, and final e-transfer orders are scheduled to be issued on October 27. Under the Punjab E-Transfer Policy 2024, promoted teachers who fail to secure postings because they submit too few preferences or do not select any available vacancy may be assigned to an available position by the department. A similar provision applies to teachers awaiting postings, for whom the appointing authority or School Education Department may assign a vacant position through the SIS portal. These provisions make it important for applicants to review vacancies and provide sufficient preferences during the application window.

The latest round illustrates how online administrative platforms are being used to manage staffing processes within Punjab’s public education system. A centralized portal can provide a common channel for submitting preferences and coordinating application processing, while the scheduled verification and concern-resolution stages provide a defined sequence for handling requests. The effectiveness of the process depends on accurate teacher records, correct portal tagging, reliable vacancy information and timely verification by the relevant authorities. Teachers who miss the application deadline or fail to provide sufficient preferences may face posting decisions under the existing policy. The department has not announced any new software functionality or technical upgrade associated with this round. Applicants should therefore rely on the official SIS portal and departmental instructions for the current application procedure, available vacancies and required documentation.
