Identity 360 Global, a venture of EPL Private Limited and a provider of Artificial Intelligence-powered digital identity solutions, has completed more than two million touchless biometric verifications for Easypaisa, marking a significant milestone in Pakistan’s evolving digital financial landscape and demonstrating the scalability of internationally proven identity technology within a local market context.

The achievement is notable in part because the same underlying technology has already powered over one billion biometric verifications worldwide, bringing internationally recognised standards of identity assurance, fraud prevention, and customer convenience to Pakistan’s growing digital economy. As digital financial services continue to expand nationally, secure identity verification has shifted from being treated as a regulatory compliance exercise to becoming a core expectation that users hold for any digital financial interaction, whether opening an account, onboarding as a merchant, or accessing financial products remotely. The touchless biometric verification solution allows users to verify their identity without relying on cumbersome physical processes, with Identity 360 Global capturing and processing the biometric image through its Artificial Intelligence-powered platform while identity validation is completed through the National Database and Registration Authority’s identity infrastructure. The platform also supports automated Optical Character Recognition-based identity document processing and offers a Quick Response code-based offline digital identity verification capability, allowing credentials to be verified securely even in low-connectivity environments.

The milestone arrives at a time when financial institutions globally are contending with increasingly sophisticated fraud threats including deepfakes, spoofed identities, SIM-swap attacks, account takeovers, and synthetic identity fraud, making liveness detection and robust identity assurance technology an increasingly indispensable component of digital onboarding and authentication systems. Azhar Ali Khan, Chief Technology Officer of Identity 360 Global, said crossing two million touchless biometric verifications for Easypaisa while surpassing one billion verifications globally reflects the company’s commitment to building trusted digital identity infrastructure at scale, adding that the objective is to ensure trust and convenience go hand in hand so that organisations can protect users without introducing unnecessary friction into their experience.

The deployment for Easypaisa was facilitated through CBA, EPL’s digital distribution platform that connects merchants, consumers, and enterprises through nationwide digital infrastructure. EPL Chief Executive Officer Ghazanfar Ali Khan said digital transformation delivers its greatest impact when it reaches the last mile, and that through Identity 360 Global and CBA, the company is helping bring globally trusted identity capabilities to Pakistan’s financial ecosystem. Identity 360 Global’s technology aligns with internationally recognised certifications and frameworks including iBeta Level 2, IDIAP, ISO/IEC standards, NIST benchmarks, FIDO principles, and MOSIP readiness, standards that govern biometric capture quality and independently validated liveness detection used by governments, financial institutions, and regulated industries worldwide. As Pakistan continues its transition toward a more digital and increasingly cashless economy, trusted identity infrastructure of this kind is expected to play a growing role in extending secure financial access to underserved populations, particularly outside the country’s major urban centres.
