Pakistan has introduced a groundbreaking AI-powered chatbot, Heart Line, designed to assist individuals with hypertension. The chatbot was launched at the 27th Annual Conference of the Pakistan Hypertension League (PHL).
Developed as part of the Discovering Hypertension project, Heart Line aims to address the critical issue of hypertension in Pakistan, where only 11% of those with high blood pressure manage it effectively. The chatbot offers valuable information and guidance on managing hypertension and its associated health risks.
Prof. Fawad Farooq, from the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD), highlighted the chatbot’s potential to transform hypertension management in Pakistan. He emphasized its role in empowering patients with knowledge and facilitating better communication between patients and healthcare providers.
Heart Line is accessible via WhatsApp at 0334-7777996. The chatbot provides information on high blood pressure, its health effects, lifestyle management, and medication. Future plans include expanding the chatbot’s capabilities to connect users with nearby specialists and clinics.
The launch of Heart Line marks a significant step towards addressing the growing burden of non-communicable diseases in Pakistan. Digital health tools like this chatbot offer promising solutions to improve healthcare access and outcomes.
