HUCon, coming with its fourth iteration on the 12th of March 2023 will be its biggest edition yet, with tickets selling out faster than we can count. It will be the last anime and comic convention of the season. The event will last for the entire day from 12pm-9pm, leaving no moment dull for anime and pop culture enthusiasts throughout Karachi.

The aim is to provide a platform for people who love certain types of Pop Culture be it anime, K-Drama, KPop, movies, tv shows, games, books, comics and many other underrated art forms and fandoms through which people can express themselves without any fear of judgment. It is also supposed to be a platform for creators who come from relevant backgrounds to showcase their work, promote it and sell it.This event will also act as a bridge between creators and consumers. Talented individuals will have a chance to perform and moreover, this event will be a place for like minded people to meet and share ideas and interests.

‘I had a wonderful experience at Habib University’s anime convention,’ said Usman Riaz, founder and director of Mano Animation Studios at HUCon’19, the previous iteration of HUCon. ‘We’re always looking for illustrators and artists and we already have a lot of people from Habib working with us on our team and we’d always love to find more people here and collaborate with Habib university in some way. We would love take this relationship forward and keep working with Habib.’

Habib University aims to provide a platform for the youth to express themselves in any way they want. HUCon is a celebration of this artistic expression through cosplays, performances and so much more. It is also a place where like minded individuals come together to discuss their interests and bounce ideas off each other. No matter how niche your interests are, conventions like these always promise to have people who enjoy the same things as you.

From cosplay walks to merchandize stalls and K-pop performances, HUCon will be an event to cater to everything that energises people who have interest in pop culture.  There will be an art corner, food, and Karaoke for low energy leisure time with friends. There will also be competitions like Beyblade and a Tekken tournament. K-pop performances will woo the crowd. Fan made anime music videos will be showcased as part of a competition. Guest speakers are said to share their inspiring journeys and experiences as well.
