Fintech Forward is set to return to Bahrain this October for its third edition, promising to bring together some of the most influential names in global finance. Organized by the Bahrain Economic Development Board (Bahrain EDB) and programmed by Economist Impact, the two-day event will be held at Exhibition World Bahrain on October 8-9, 2025. Supported by the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) and Bahrain FinTech Bay, the conference is expected to attract international regulators, investors, and industry players from across the financial ecosystem.

The event has quickly grown into a flagship platform in the region, creating a space for global leaders to share insights, celebrate successes, and strengthen partnerships. With the theme “The era of integration: the maturing age of fintech,” this year’s edition will explore how the sector is shifting from rapid expansion to sustainable maturity. Keynotes, panel discussions, and interactive sessions will highlight trends shaping the industry, from the rise of embedded financial infrastructure and advanced technologies to the growing emphasis on trust, regulation, and collaboration. Rather than focusing solely on disruption, the agenda emphasizes long-term integration between fintechs, regulators, sovereign investors, and established banks.

Bahrain has strategically positioned itself as a fintech hub within the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, combining traditional financial institutions with a thriving ecosystem of fintech startups. The Central Bank of Bahrain, the country’s single financial regulator, has played a pivotal role in supporting innovation. Through its Fintech Innovation Unit and progressive policies, CBB has created frameworks that enable experimentation while ensuring compliance. Its onshore Regulatory Sandbox, the first of its kind in MENA, offers a controlled environment for fintech firms to develop and test digital payments, open banking, and crypto asset solutions. This approach has not only attracted local players but also international companies looking for a secure and structured entry into the region’s market.

The previous editions of Fintech Forward drew participation from global investors, government representatives, and financial executives, reinforcing Bahrain’s influence in shaping fintech dialogue across the region. The 2025 event builds on this foundation, bringing the world’s financial leaders to discuss how integration and regulatory collaboration can drive sustainable growth. As fintech continues to evolve, the conference is expected to strengthen Bahrain’s role as a hub for innovation and a key destination for global partnerships in finance.
