Federal Minister for IT & Telecom Shaza Fatima Khawaja recently held a strategic engagement with David Frantic, Regional Business Head at Microsoft, aimed at strengthening collaboration across key pillars of Pakistan’s digital transformation agenda. The meeting focused on aligning public sector priorities with private sector expertise to accelerate technology adoption and build a resilient digital ecosystem. Both sides emphasized the importance of leveraging innovation to drive economic growth, enhance service delivery, and prepare Pakistan’s workforce for emerging digital opportunities.

During the discussion, a major area of focus was artificial intelligence skilling and capacity building, recognizing the growing role of AI in shaping global industries. The minister highlighted the government’s commitment to equipping youth and professionals with future ready digital skills, while Microsoft shared insights into its training programs, learning platforms, and global best practices that could support Pakistan’s talent development goals. The collaboration aims to expand access to technology education, improve employability, and encourage advanced digital competencies that align with international market demands.

Cloud infrastructure and digital governance also featured prominently in the talks, reflecting the government’s broader push toward secure, scalable, and efficient digital public services. The conversation explored how cloud based solutions can modernize government operations, improve data management, and enhance cybersecurity frameworks.
