ELFA Electric, a flagship product of EV Technologies, has entered into a strategic partnership with Bykea, Pakistan’s largest ride-hailing and delivery platform, to promote electric mobility across the country’s growing gig economy. The collaboration is focused on transitioning thousands of Bykea riders from conventional petrol motorcycles to ELFA’s electric bikes, with the goal of improving income for riders and reducing environmental impact.

The initiative follows a successful pilot program in which Bykea driver-partners tested ELFA bikes across various terrains and conditions. Based on positive feedback regarding performance, durability, and cost-effectiveness, the partnership was officially announced during an event held in Karachi last week. ELFA Electric will now offer its electric motorcycles to Bykea riders through convenient installment plans, making it easier for gig workers to access advanced electric vehicles without heavy upfront costs.

EV Technologies CEO Huma Yahya Khattak highlighted that the partnership aims to transform more than just transportation. She emphasized that ELFA bikes are built specifically for the demanding needs of urban riders in Pakistan, designed to handle rough roads, carry heavy loads, and reduce operational costs. According to Khattak, the bikes are not only strong and smart but also enable riders to save significantly on fuel and maintenance, potentially increasing monthly take-home income by up to Rs8,000.

Bykea’s Chief Operating Officer, Rafiq Malik, pointed out that rising fuel prices and urban congestion make the shift to electric transport a practical necessity for the platform’s riders. He noted that after six months of extensive field testing, ELFA bikes stood out for their durability and efficiency. Malik added that the move to electric is not just about technological advancement—it’s about delivering value to the people who rely on their bikes for a living and contributing to a cleaner urban environment.

The ELFA EV125, the model offered under this partnership, has undergone rigorous R&D and testing tailored to Pakistan’s unique urban challenges. The bike performs reliably on long commutes, rough patches, steep roads, and even through water puddles. It comfortably carries two riders and cargo while being powered by locally manufactured Atom Power ATP-series lithium-ion batteries. These batteries offer enhanced range, faster charging times, intelligent tracking features, and long-term performance benefits suited for daily professional use. ELFA also backs the product with strong customer support, including warranty services and accessible spare parts.

This collaboration between EV Technologies and Bykea sets a new precedent in how businesses can jointly support sustainable development goals while empowering local communities. With a shared commitment to clean energy and inclusive access, the partnership opens up new opportunities for thousands of riders who previously viewed electric vehicles as financially out of reach.
