The message read:

Dear Customer,

The EasyPaisa Virtual Debit Card product will be temporarily taken down starting 28th October 2017. We thank you for using this product and we will activate this product again soon.

According to ProPakistani, Head of Corporate Communications at Telenor Microfinance Bank also confirmed the news. Perhaps a better take on this would be not to focus on managing more efficient payment systems, but ways to cater to fraud detection.

We were already hooked and debited within 5 minutes of signing up! On popular Facebook groups that address technology hacks and payment solutions, EasyPaisa was found one of the top most used payment services for activities like Facebook ad payments and other e-commerce platforms. This will certainly hurt the market in many ways. Let’s hope we’re able to resume the speedy checkout and payment service.
