Punjab government has announced the launch of the Chief Minister IT Internship Program aimed at providing valuable professional opportunities to IT graduates across the province. The program is designed to place selected candidates in private sector software houses where they can gain practical, hands-on experience in the technology industry. This initiative reflects an ongoing effort by Punjab authorities to strengthen digital capacity and create employment pathways for fresh graduates in the information technology sector.

The internship program offers a monthly stipend of Rs.50,000, which will be provided by the Government of Punjab. With a total duration of five months, the program is intended to give participants a comprehensive understanding of real-world work environments within private sector companies. By participating, graduates will not only receive financial support but also acquire skills and exposure that can enhance their employability in a competitive market. Such a structure underscores the government’s focus on linking education with industry needs and bridging the gap between academic training and practical experience.

According to the program details, pre-registration for interested candidates is currently open. Those who meet the criteria are encouraged to apply through the online registration form at this link. The eligibility requirements specify that applicants must have graduated in IT, Computer Science, or a relevant discipline within the past four years. They must also be permanent residents of Punjab and hold a valid CNIC to qualify. These conditions are set to ensure that the initiative benefits fresh graduates who are still at the beginning of their professional journey and are most in need of structured industry exposure.

By collaborating with private software houses, the Chief Minister IT Internship Program positions itself as a platform where graduates can acquire not just technical knowledge but also soft skills and workplace competencies. This hands-on approach is expected to help participants understand client needs, project timelines, and team-based workflows – aspects often missing from purely academic settings. Through this program, Punjab aims to cultivate a skilled workforce that aligns with the province’s growing technology ecosystem, enabling graduates to contribute meaningfully to the digital economy once their internship period concludes.

For graduates eager to establish a foothold in the IT sector, this initiative offers both financial support and practical training under real industry conditions. The pre-registration process marks the first step in opening doors to thousands of students who have recently completed their degrees and are seeking to turn academic knowledge into workplace experience. By investing in young talent through programs like this, Punjab’s government continues to signal its commitment to expanding digital opportunities and fostering innovation-driven employment for its citizens.
