Board of Revenue (BoR) Punjab has approved steps to modernize and digitize the e-stamp paper system to combat fraud.
During a full board meeting chaired by Senior Member BoR Nabeel Javed, the meeting approved 14 agenda items, including restructuring colony branches in all Punjab districts.
A committee has been formed to assess the extension of lease periods for government land assigned to agricultural graduates. The committee will provide recommendations on the lease policy within two weeks.
The meeting also approved reforms in the BoR’s tax department to boost tax collection efficiency and enhancements to the internal audit system for greater transparency in managing government lands and recovering dues.
Nabeel Javed directed board members to maintain transparency in the auction and leasing of government lands and to make all pertinent information available online. The board discussed a proposal to move all registrations to a digital, paperless system.
These measures aim to improve the efficiency and transparency of the e-stamp paper system and combat fraud.
