The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) held Las Vegas at the start of the year was spectacular. Not only did it showcase the best in the world of technology, but also it served to set a bar for computer geeks all over the world to compare themselves against. This can only mean absolute greatness in the coming days to come, as the bar that has been raised is tall and proud.

A running theme from the event with regards lifelogging and lifestreaming technology marked the event. For so long it was only a sliver of the cake that technology is. Until now. Lifelogging is when you log in the details of your life in sequence of events as they happen. Lifestreaming is sharing with everyone everything.

Both these concepts were technologically applied at this year’s CES 2014. Google Glass, drones, wearable technology to name a few.

Following is a comprehensive list of all the gadgets that will be soon be selling like hot cakes:

  1. Smartphones

CES 2014 saw the rise of new smartphones. Apps connecting the phone to the cloud were plenty. LG started came out with new G flex curve that had taken over much of the news space in the last quarter of 2013. Phablets are the new phone!

  1. Televisions
    1.  LG Flexible OLED TV

Both LG and Samsung have come out with the Organic Light Emitting Dioxide panel that bends to provide better immersion.

However, the screen is a tad impractical – the screen from the corners of the screen our inaccessible for viewing. Also, the panel, when mounted on a wall could prove to be problematic which is why it has not been ready for release yet. All in all sitting across LG Flexible OLED TV was a tasty treat.

  1. Panasonic AX800 series LCD TV’S

The Japanese firm had announced the termination of its plasma displays, the replacement being LCDs; the newest in that line being Panasonic AX800 series LCD. The new TV also comes out with its very own game: it makes use of facial and voice recognition.

  1. Intuitive Computing

Zepp Sports Sensor

For players of golf it is important to understand how to play the game better. Zepp Spors Sensor helps how. Making use Bluetooth technology to analyze the swings of the user, the sensor helps in providing an extensive breakdown of the shots of the game, much like tennis shots.

  1. Drones

Parrot MiniDrone

The French creation, the Parrot MiniDrone, is the technology of the future. Much like a toy, albeit a pricey one, the drone can climb heights of about 160 ft and find it reachable at an app on the phone.

  1. Wireless Chargers

Vendors such as WiTricity and CovenientPower have innovated on a charging facility that makes use of charging pads for iPhone 5, iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S models. This is likely to become available for other phones as well in the months to come. In the wake of so much becoming wireless, this new innovation will only help to bring out more.  Charging though the electrical socket is a thing of the past!

  1. Robotics

In the realm of entertainment, work or play, robotics was a highlight of CES 2014. The most highlighted was the subservient robot helping in taking a selfie. With a radio transmitter worn on the wrist, the robotic camera helps take ‘in focus selfies,’ with absolute ease. Such ease in lifestreaming technology!

  1. Automobiles

9 car maker’s presence at CES marks a new trend. Car makers are interested to adapt to the needs of the increasingly technologically savvy peoples. Driverless car parking and the use of 4G technology in the automobile industry are some of the hottest trends.

  1. Smart Homes

Withings Aura Smart Sleep System

This neat gadget, which comes as a full kit, records the sleeping pattern of an individual. The noise, temperature and light level of the room, as well as, the sensor under the mattress of the user, checks his/her the breathing rate, cycle and movements to monitor his/her sleeping patterns.

Samsung and LG are seeking to make household tools even more subservient: commands to engage household equipment into chores much like a still from the cartoon ‘Jetsons,’ can be seen as starting to take shape.

  1. Wearables

Netamo June

Wearables were the most talked about technology of both last year, and this year too. This wearable gadget straps onto the wearer’s arm like a bracelet and keeps a check on how much sun exposure the wearer of that bracelet has been exposed to.

  1. Sony FDR-AX100 Handycam

The palm sized FDR-AX100 boasts a 1-inch-type Exmor R CMOS sensor – the same sensor size found in Sony’s excellent RX100 and RX10 cameras. Taking home videos was never before this easy!

  1. ClearView Clio

A sonic breakthrough has been made with ClearView Clio’s emergence by the American Clearview Audio. The device makes of Bluetooth technologies to make sound. With volume adjuster, Bluetooth buttons on the side, the device is good-looking. Clearview Audio claims with this technology it could turn the windshields of the car into speakers!

  1. Games
  1. Alienware Steam Machine

Valve’s latest installment is a gaming operating system that will combine the best of both console and PC gaming experience. 14 other PC gamers are following suit, sources say.

  1. PrioVR

PrioVR seeks to enhance the pleasure of the gamer which involves wearing a suit with sensors on the head, chest and arms. The full-body version of the suit costs about $400, while the torso-only version will cost about $270 via Kickstarter from next month. PrioVR, with its motion detecting technology can easily guess the most delicate of movements of the user during the game, and therefore gives it the realistic demeanor.
