Apple Inc Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Tim Cook, has announced that the company will contribute to the relief and recovery efforts for the victims of the catastrophic floods in Pakistan. Taking to his Twitter handle, Cook expressed his condolences to the flood victims who have suffered immense losses, including the loss of loved ones and possessions, in what is being described as the worst floods in Pakistan’s history.
In his tweet, Cook acknowledged the devastating impact of the floods and stated, “The floods in Pakistan and surrounding areas are devastating humanitarian disasters. Our thoughts are with those that have lost loved ones, the many displaced families, and all those affected.” He further mentioned that Apple will make a donation towards the ongoing relief and recovery efforts in the flood-hit country, stating, “Apple will donate to relief and recovery efforts on the ground.”
Pakistani activist and Nobel Peace Prize laureate of 2014, Malala Yousafzai, also expressed her gratitude to Tim Cook for Apple’s generous gesture during these distressing times.
