The Allama Iqbal Open University has recently introduced a new industrial training program that is to help emerging engineers refine their professional skills and provide them with the promotional exposure they need.
Developed in collaboration with the Skills Development Council; the duration of the course is one month, according to the Directorate General it will be initiated along with the current semester in spring 2018. The program will be available throughout the year and is to be conducted by AIOU’s department of Engineering Technology.

Admissions for this program are open till 5th of March, and even Diploma holders can apply.
AIOU has also started a one year post-graduate diploma program called “Educational Leadership Management” (ELM) that will help promote leadership skills in the educational field. This program is related to the society’s socio-economic issues that meet the market needs.

The Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Shahid Siddiqui hopes that these courses will help the students promote their professional skills and motivate them to startup their own businesses. Over the past three years, AIOU has introduced about 27 different academic programs.
