In a major push toward a product-based digital economy, the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT), in strategic collaboration with Google for Developers, Telenor Pakistan, and Innovista, has officially launched AI Seekho 2026. This nationwide upskilling initiative is designed to democratize access to artificial intelligence, focusing on the revolutionary concept of “Vibe Coding” to empower the next generation of Pakistani creators.

The program marks a departure from traditional software development by introducing participants to agent-driven, natural language programming. Utilizing advanced platforms such as Google AI Studio and Google Antigravity, AI Seekho 2026 allows developers and students to build sophisticated applications and games through intuitive problem-solving rather than complex syntax. The initiative is structured in two distinct phases: an initial online challenge running from April 11 to May 3, where participants can choose between the “Build an App” (App Banao) or “Build a Game” (Game Uthao) tracks. Aspiring developers can officially register for the online challenge here to begin their journey.

The movement is heavily supported by the local community, with GDG Kolachi leading the technical facilitation. Developers interested in local sessions can sign up for the specialized Build with AI workshop to gain deeper insights into Gemini integration. Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, emphasized that with 65% of the population under 35, AI has been declared a core priority to ensure Pakistani youth can compete globally. For those who missed the initial announcement, the full kick-off event stream is available to watch online, detailing the roadmap for the upcoming physical hackathons in Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad.

To further incentivize innovation, a massive prize pool of PKR 2,500,000 has been established for the top-performing solutions, alongside exclusive merchandise and Google Cloud credits. Participants will also be linked with National Incubation Centers and the Pakistan Startup Fund, creating a direct pathway from training to economic opportunity. This collaborative effort aims to transition the country from a legacy services-oriented workforce into a hub for world-class AI creators, reinforcing the broader Digital Nation Pakistan vision.

Launched in 1967 internationally, ComputerWorld is the oldest tech magazine/media property in the world. In Pakistan, ComputerWorld was launched in 1995.
