Pakistan Advertisers Society has announced a new workshop titled “Digital Marketing is dying!” that will be held in Lahore on May 19 and in Karachi on May 21. The full day sessions are aimed at marketers, agency professionals, startup founders and students seeking to understand how artificial intelligence and changing consumer behaviour are reshaping the advertising industry. Details about the event have been published on PAS website.

According to the event details, the workshop will focus on the growing role of artificial intelligence in marketing strategy, content production and audience engagement. PAS noted that traditional approaches based on demographics, media buying metrics and conventional social media campaigns are no longer enough for brands competing for consumer attention. The workshop material points to changing patterns such as private online communities, short attention spans and increasing use of automated content tools that are altering the way advertising campaigns are planned and delivered.

The sessions will be led by Humza Mahfooz and Umair Kazi, both of whom have worked across Pakistan’s advertising and marketing industry. PAS stated that the programme will include discussions on social first marketing strategies, the use of artificial intelligence tools for consumer research, and practical demonstrations of image, video and audio generation platforms. Participants will also receive guidance on campaign production workflows and the costs associated with different AI based tools currently available in the market. The workshop description says attendees will be encouraged to develop marketing concepts grounded in local consumer insights while also learning how automation tools are changing creative processes across agencies and brands.

Humza Mahfooz, who has worked at Unilever across customer development, digital transformation and brand management, is among the featured speakers for the event. PAS said he has also been involved in deploying generative artificial intelligence solutions within marketing functions. Umair Kazi, founder of creative agency Ishtehari and startup Stanify, will also speak during the sessions. The workshop description notes that advertising professionals are increasingly reassessing their role as artificial intelligence tools continue to change production timelines and campaign development practices across the industry.

PAS said the workshop is designed for chief marketing officers, brand managers, agency teams, startup founders and graduates entering the field. The organisation added that the programme is intended as a starting point for professionals seeking to understand the impact of artificial intelligence on advertising and communication strategies. Registration for PAS members has been set at Rs. 32,500 plus tax, while non members will pay Rs. 39,500 plus tax. The last date for registration is May 15.
