NADRA has warned Pakistanis, particularly those living abroad, against unauthorized websites that are using the authority’s name to offer services it claims to provide on its behalf. The warning comes as the authority continues to identify a growing number of fraudulent platforms attempting to exploit its branding to collect sensitive personal information from unsuspecting citizens.
According to the authority, citizens should avoid using fake websites and portals that falsely claim to offer NADRA related services, and should refrain from entering or sharing personal information, passport details, fingerprint data, or payment related details on any such platforms. This guidance reflects growing concern within NADRA over the potential misuse of sensitive biometric and financial information that citizens might unknowingly submit to fraudulent websites designed to closely mimic the authority’s official branding and service offerings.
NADRA said it has already identified several unauthorized websites circulating online, including platforms using names closely associated with its own branding, such as NADRA Card Center and NADRA Online Card, among other similarly named services. The use of names that closely resemble NADRA’s official branding appears designed to create confusion among users, particularly those less familiar with the authority’s actual digital platforms, potentially making it easier for these fraudulent sites to convince visitors that they are interacting with a legitimate government service.
The authority urged citizens to rely exclusively on official NADRA platforms when accessing its services, and to remain cautious of any websites that misuse its name or branding to appear legitimate. For citizens who may have already submitted personal information to one of these unauthorized websites, NADRA advised immediately informing the relevant local cybercrime authorities and taking prompt steps to protect their personal information from further misuse. The authority closed its warning by asking all citizens to verify the authenticity of any website before submitting personal or financial information, cautioning against falling victim to fraudulent platforms that continue to operate under NADRA’s name across the internet.
