Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) has initiated a nationwide consultation with the country’s IT and IT-enabled services sector ahead of the Federal Budget 2026–27, emphasizing the importance of industry-led guidance in shaping policies that support Pakistan’s digital economy. The board is actively inviting companies, startups, and industry associations to submit proposals and recommendations aimed at enhancing the business environment for technology firms, improving digital infrastructure, and expanding IT exports. Officials highlighted that leveraging the expertise of industry stakeholders is essential to ensure the budget reflects the needs and priorities of Pakistan’s rapidly evolving tech sector.
According to PSEB, input from IT and ITeS companies will be critical in identifying practical measures that can strengthen the country’s digital ecosystem. The board emphasized that proposals should focus on actionable solutions, including incentives for innovation, investment facilitation, workforce development, and initiatives that promote the growth of startups and established tech firms. By collaborating with the industry, PSEB aims to address long-standing challenges faced by technology companies, such as access to funding, regulatory hurdles, and gaps in digital infrastructure, ensuring fiscal policies contribute effectively to the sector’s expansion.
Industry stakeholders are encouraged to present suggestions that can be implemented at a national level, covering a range of areas including export promotion, tax incentives, digital skills development, research and development, and support for emerging technologies. PSEB stressed that proposals should be forward-looking, practical, and aligned with the government’s broader vision for digital transformation. The board underscored the opportunity for companies to influence the federal budget by articulating policies that can drive sustainable growth, increase global competitiveness, and create a conducive environment for IT investments in Pakistan.
All submissions are required by 16 December 2025, with PSEB urging comprehensive participation from the IT sector to ensure that the federal budget reflects the priorities of technology companies and maximizes the impact of fiscal measures on the digital economy. Officials noted that industry engagement is not only vital for immediate budget considerations but also contributes to long-term policy planning, supporting Pakistan’s ambition to strengthen its position as a technology-driven economy. The board reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with industry players, recognizing that inclusive collaboration will help accelerate innovation, expand IT exports, and build a robust ecosystem capable of sustaining digital growth across the country.
Through this consultation, PSEB seeks to create a platform for dialogue between the government and the tech sector, ensuring that budget allocations, incentives, and regulatory frameworks effectively respond to industry needs. By prioritizing input from IT and ITeS companies, Pakistan is taking steps toward a more transparent, responsive, and growth-oriented approach to digital economic planning, positioning the sector as a key driver of national development and technological advancement.
