The Prime Minister’s Youth Programme (PMYP) has entered into a partnership with Destinations, a digital tourism and innovation platform, to advance tourism growth and create new opportunities for the youth through AI-driven initiatives. The agreement was formalised with the signing of a Letter of Intent at the Prime Minister’s Office, chaired by Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, Chairman of PMYP. The initiative is designed to support the digital transformation of Pakistan’s tourism sector while enabling youth to actively participate in high-growth industries and the halal economy.
Destinations, founded in 2015, has established itself as a leader in sustainable tourism, youth entrepreneurship, and digital innovation. Through award-winning travel content and AI-powered tools, it has built a reputation for advancing Pakistan’s visibility in the global tourism landscape. By joining forces with PMYP, Destinations will provide a platform where young Pakistanis can access training, digital resources, and entrepreneurial pathways. The collaboration will target sustainable tourism, education, the halal economy, and digital storytelling to strengthen Pakistan’s presence in international markets.
The partnership will focus on four central areas. Technology and infrastructure will play a key role, with the introduction of AI-driven tools to enhance the travel experience, streamline planning, and improve efficiency in service delivery. Marketing campaigns will be launched to expand Pakistan’s reach as a tourism destination, while operational expansion will include the establishment of regional centres and provision of digital access to permits and regulatory information. The fourth area, data access and integration, will prioritise cybersecurity and data-sharing protocols to ensure a seamless and secure digital ecosystem. Together, these measures will provide structure for long-term growth while encouraging participation from multiple stakeholders.
Digital inclusion is central to this collaboration, connecting local service providers, tour guides, artisans, and small businesses with training opportunities and tools to increase visibility in the marketplace. This focus will encourage entrepreneurship and sustainable practices, ensuring that communities across Pakistan benefit directly from tourism expansion. Additionally, the initiative highlights the growing importance of the creator economy. Through the Destinations Edu app, young people will be empowered to create digital content such as videos, podcasts, and campaigns that showcase Pakistan’s culture and natural landscapes to a global audience. By bringing together technology, entrepreneurship, and storytelling, the programme aims to strengthen both tourism and youth-led economic growth in Pakistan.
