Binance Academy and Ministry of IT and Telecom (MoITT) have entered into a strategic partnership to enhance blockchain education in Pakistan, aiming to reach 80,000 students across 20 universities by 2026. The initiative will provide specialized training and resources for 300 educators, who will then impart blockchain knowledge to students across the country. This collaboration marks a major step in the government’s efforts to strengthen digital literacy and prepare a skilled workforce for the rapidly evolving global tech ecosystem.
Binance Academy, the educational arm of Binance and a leading platform for open-access blockchain and crypto education, is expanding its outreach in Pakistan through this alliance. The program is designed to equip professors and instructors with practical blockchain expertise, ensuring that universities across Pakistan integrate modern blockchain curricula into their academic programs. It reflects the growing demand for decentralized technologies and the need for a workforce that can support blockchain development both locally and globally.
This effort builds on the foundation of the Global University Outreach Program (GUOP), launched through a partnership between Binance Academy and the Blockchain & AI Technology Center (BAITC). GUOP is recognized as the world’s largest Web3 education initiative and has already extended its reach to over 20 countries. The program’s goal is to engage with more than 200 universities across 50 countries, educating over one million students by 2026.
In Pakistan, Binance Academy has already trained over 3,000 students since 2022 through its earlier university outreach programs, spanning three provinces and 13 institutions. This new national-level initiative, in partnership with MoITT, expands the scale and impact of those early efforts. The program will focus on integrating blockchain courses into university systems, offering educational certifications and facilitating industry partnerships that support the career paths of students in emerging tech fields.
Bader Al Kalooti, MEASA Head of Growth and Operations at Binance, emphasized the importance of skill-building in blockchain as the technology reshapes industries. He stated that the collaboration with MoITT represents a crucial investment in talent development and will prepare Pakistan’s workforce to lead digital innovation in the coming years.
Minister of IT and Telecom Shaza Fatima Khawaja reiterated the government’s commitment to digital empowerment and economic growth. She highlighted that the partnership supports Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s vision of transforming Pakistan into a digitally progressive nation. By working with Binance and BAITC, the Ministry aims to develop a new generation of blockchain professionals who will help position Pakistan as a hub of skilled tech talent on the international stage.
This collaboration is aligned with broader national goals to support the development of a secure and well-regulated digital environment. Binance Academy continues to play a central role in advancing educational infrastructure around Web3 technologies, ensuring that students in Pakistan are equipped with the tools and knowledge to thrive in the digital economy.
