Computerworld partnered with the Pakistan E-Commerce Association (PEA) as their Technology Media Partner for the recently held Digital Leaders’ Summit 2024 – this time in Karachi! The crisp Karachi winter air set the perfect backdrop for a gathering of e-commerce champions this past weekend. The summit, held on Saturday, November 30, 2024, brought together the brightest minds in Pakistan’s e-commerce industry. From seasoned entrepreneurs to emerging startups, the event was a melting pot of digital innovation and strategic thinking.

The event was presented with the efforts of prominent industry leaders, including Omer Mubeen (Chairman, PEA), Haider Ahmed Qazi, and Raja Umair Arshad (Information Secretary, PEA), who shared their insights into driving innovation, partnerships, and inclusivity in Pakistan’s e-commerce ecosystem.

Computerworld Pakistan is a proud partner of the Pakistan E-Commerce Association. This event, in collaboration with CityMail and RS Logistics, highlighted pivotal issues such as seamless integration of logistics, digital payment innovations, consumer protection, and the growing importance of embedding insurance solutions within e-commerce platforms. The focus on building a robust digital infrastructure and fostering trust among consumers and businesses was a recurring theme.

Speaking at the event, PEA Chairman Omer Mubeen emphasized,

“The Digital Leaders’ Summit is more than an event; it’s a movement towards empowering Pakistan’s e-commerce ecosystem with cutting-edge solutions and sustainable growth strategies. By uniting digital pioneers, we aim to lay the foundation for a stronger, globally competitive digital economy.”

Experts delved into innovative approaches to logistics and payment challenges, emphasizing scalable and secure solutions tailored for Pakistan’s unique market. The gathering also served as a forum for establishing partnerships across sectors, particularly integrating insurance to safeguard transactions and enhance customer confidence. Discussions at the event explored trends in AI, data analytics, and consumer behavior shaping e-commerce in 2025 and beyond.

The event demonstrated how public and private stakeholders can converge to redefine the e-commerce landscape, while underscoring the need for collaboration across the digital value chain.

The Digital Leaders’ Summit 2024 sets the stage for continued dialogue and actionable steps to address challenges in Pakistan’s e-commerce sector. As one participant aptly put it,

“The summit wasn’t just about identifying problems; it was about shaping a vision for the future of Pakistan’s digital commerce.”

PEA extends its heartfelt gratitude to all attendees, sponsors, and partners for making this summit a resounding success. The association is committed to maintaining the momentum and fostering innovative solutions to drive Pakistan’s digital economy forward.
