Monami, a fintech startup with special focus on Middle Eastern & South Asian markets has launched a digital gift cards service in collaboration with Bank Alfalah through its internet banking service. Service is named ‘cardwalla’ and the main objective behind the launch of this service is to enable those without any credit or debit cards to buy apps from Google Play or iTunes, or to buy products from Skype, Facebook advertising or to pay for subscription of variety of services like Netflix etc.

Bank Alfalah is the only bank in Pakistan offering this exclusive gift card service. Keeping in mind the value of time, Bank Alfalah gives you convenience of banking from home or from your office. With time, Monami is going to include more digital and offline retail partners including Mobile Paisa, Easypaisa, MobiCash etc. to make these cards available to wider audience throughout Pakistan.

As for now, gift cards will be available for the following services:

  • Amazon (USA Store): $10, $15, $25, $50, $100, $250 cards
  • Club Penguin
  • Facebook: $15 and $25 cards
  • Gilt: 50$
  • Google Play: 10$, $15, $ 25, $50 cards
  • Hulu
  • iTunes (USA Store): $5, $10, $15, $25, $50, $100 cards

  • Skype: 10$ and $25 cards
  • Steam (Malaysia Store): 5$ to $60 Cards
  • XBox: 15$, 25$ and 50$ Cards
  • Xbox Live

Using gift service is a simple few steps procedure:

  • Get a gift card through Bank Alfalah internet banking service.
  • Use these cards on any online store/service you want to use to ‘fund your account’
  • Card denomination will be deposited into your account (Google Play for example) and any purchases will be made from that account.
  • If you loaded a $10 card and consumed $6 then your account balance will be $4 and that will be sitting in your own Google Play account.

CardWalla service will go live in a week or so and will allow Pakistani users to access international services in order to become global customers.
