In an overwhelming response, a total of 652,155 students from 143 universities across Pakistan have applied for the Prime Minister’s Youth Laptop Scheme 2022-23, demonstrating the strong demand for personal laptops among the student community.
The scheme, following the successful distribution of nearly one million laptops in Phase-I and Phase-II, aims to award 100,000 laptops to deserving students, empowering them with essential technological resources to excel in their educational endeavors.
To ensure fairness and transparency in the selection process, multiple stages of scrutiny and evaluation are in place. The applications are initially reviewed and verified by designated focal persons at the respective universities and higher education institutions (HEIs). Subsequently, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) generates merit lists from the online system, which will be made available for public access.
The Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme 2022-23 aims to provide students with modern technological tools to enrich their educational experience and explore new avenues of knowledge. By bridging the digital divide, the scheme empowers young minds to actively participate in the digital age.
The selected students will receive laptops based on their merit, rewarding those who have shown exceptional academic performance and dedication. These laptops will serve as valuable resources, enabling students to access a vast array of educational materials, conduct research, and engage in online learning opportunities.
The government’s laptop distribution initiative is a significant step towards empowering students and equipping them with the necessary tools to thrive in the digital era, fostering a technologically proficient and knowledgeable workforce for the future.
