Zvolta chargers are now being deployed at SPAR Pakistan locations, beginning with the SPAR Pakistan outlet in Naya Nazimabad, Karachi. The deployment extends Zvolta’s growing network of locally manufactured AC charging solutions, which the company has positioned around placing chargers where people already spend time, including homes, workplaces, campuses, cafés, and commercial spaces, rather than concentrating installations solely along highways or at dedicated standalone charging stations. Bringing a retail grocery chain into that network gives EV owners another everyday destination where they can charge while running errands, extending the model beyond Zvolta’s earlier focus on residential and workplace locations.

Zvolta framed the partnership around a simple proposition: every new charging location matters, and for EV adoption to become practical, drivers need to be able to charge where they already spend time, at workplaces, campuses, retail spaces, and neighbourhood destinations. This retail-anchored approach to charging infrastructure contrasts with Pakistan’s larger fast-charging network buildouts, such as the BYD Pakistan and HUBCO Green collaboration targeting 128 DC fast chargers along highways and urban centres through partnerships with oil marketing companies like PSO and Attock Petroleum. Zvolta’s focus on AC chargers at destination-style locations like SPAR stores instead targets the slower, longer-dwell charging use case that complements rather than competes with highway fast-charging corridors.

Zvolta thanked Ahsan Chawla and the SPAR Pakistan team for partnering on the initiative, describing the collaboration as helping make EV charging access more practical for drivers across the city. The company has been actively expanding its visibility in Pakistan’s EV ecosystem in recent months, having supported the “Cuties on Scooties” women-led electric bike and scooter rally in Karachi and recently earning a nomination for the Prime Electric Vehicle Awards 2026 organized by Prime Awards Pakistan. These engagements, combined with the SPAR partnership, suggest Zvolta is pursuing a multi-pronged strategy that pairs physical charging infrastructure expansion with community-facing events aimed at building broader public awareness around electric mobility in Pakistan.

For SPAR Pakistan, hosting EV charging infrastructure at its retail locations offers a way to differentiate its stores as EV adoption continues to grow in major Pakistani cities, giving customers a practical reason to choose a SPAR location over competing retailers when planning a shopping trip around their vehicle’s charging needs. Zvolta said it looks forward to taking the partnership to more locations together, suggesting the Naya Nazimabad deployment is intended as a starting point for a broader rollout across SPAR Pakistan’s retail footprint rather than a single standalone installation. Whether that expansion materializes will likely depend on customer usage patterns at the first location and how effectively the charging infrastructure translates into measurable foot traffic benefits for SPAR’s stores.
