The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), Hub Chowki, organized a seminar on the Digital Literacy Programme for Women Entrepreneurs, Multi-Sectoral, on September 30, 2026, at the Lasbela Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) in Hub Chowki. The programme aimed to promote digital literacy, entrepreneurship, innovation, and awareness of contemporary digital business practices among women and young participants in South Balochistan. The session commenced with an introductory address by the Director of TDAP’s Gwadar and Hub office, who outlined the authority’s broader mandate in promoting trade and economic development in the region and encouraging greater participation of women in economic activities and entrepreneurship.
A detailed session on digital literacy and digital marketing was delivered by Ahmed Nabi, a Master Trainer and Instructor in Graphic Designing and Digital Marketing, covering traditional and non-traditional media, social media marketing, e-commerce, online marketplaces, websites, digital wallets, QR-code payments, branding, and modern digital business practices. Participants were also guided on the broader digital business journey and the effective use of technology with purpose, confidence, and responsibility. This curriculum mirrors similar sessions TDAP’s Women Entrepreneur Division has run in other cities, including a recent e-commerce and digital skills session in Islamabad organized with the Pakistan Institute of Trade and Development, suggesting the authority has developed a fairly standardized training format it is replicating across different regional chambers of commerce.
The programme was supported by the TTC Hub team, including Fida Muhammad, Chapter Coordinator at SZABIST-ZABTech iTVE-TTC Hub, Badar Hassan, Industrial Linkages and Placement Officer, and instructors Naz Bibi, Nargis Aziz, and Saeeda Meer covering web designing, hair and beauty services, and culinary arts respectively, giving the session a cross-disciplinary support structure beyond the core digital marketing training. Representatives from colleges, the Provincial Higher Education Commission, the National Rural Support Programme, educational institutions, and civil society also participated, while students from The Hub Intermediate College took part in notable numbers, with TDAP specifically thanking the college administration for its contribution to the session’s success.
Revenue Officer Zohaib Ahmed appreciated TDAP Hub Chowki for organizing the initiative and highlighted the importance of digital skills in helping women access wider markets and promote their products and services, encouraging greater participation from women in Hub and adjoining areas in future capacity-building initiatives. The seminar concluded with a shared commitment to building women’s digital literacy, entrepreneurship, market access, and economic participation through collaborative initiatives, extending TDAP’s broader push to bring digital business training to less urbanized parts of the country beyond its more frequent sessions in major cities like Islamabad and Karachi. Whether this Hub Chowki session leads to tangible business outcomes for participants will likely depend on how effectively the skills covered translate into actual digital marketplace participation among the region’s women entrepreneurs in the months following the training.
