Zong and FINCA Microfinance Bank Sign MoU

Zong 4G and FINCA Microfinance Bank Pakistan have partnered to uplift the digital and financial ecosystem of Pakistan. Through the agreement, the companies are to leverage Zong’s 4G service in a strategic collaboration that will enable FINCA customers to perform all sorts of banking activities over their digital mobile application “SimSim”.

According to the Memorandum of Understanding between the two companies, Zong & FINCA Pakistan will bring together their expertise to ensure digital financial inclusion and experiences for FINCA’s customers across the combined footprint of both the corporates in the length and breadth of the country.

Zong is the pioneer of 4G services in Pakistan and has over 11 million 4G customers that spread across a coverage footprint of more than 10,000 4G sites. Therefore, combined with FINCA’s expansive financial network of more than 130 branches in over 120 cities, the collaboration is to increase the outreach to potential and existing micro-finance customers.

Chairman and CEO Zong 4G, Mr. Wang Hua speaking on the occasion said,

“Our collaboration will benefit Zong 4G’s customers across the country as we simplify processes for branchless connectivity and provide a consistent experience to accelerate digitalization through our widest, seamless and unmatched connectivity in this fast-moving market.”

Furthermore, M. Mudassir Aqil CEO FINCA Microfinance Bank, speaking about the collaboration said,

“At FINCA, we are determined to empower people through digital financial inclusion. By leveraging on the widest 4G network of the country, we are digitizing branchless banking for the strata of our low income entrepreneurs.”
