Zong has officially inaugurated the China-Pakistan International Joint Innovation Laboratory at FAST-NUCES Islamabad Campus, marking a significant collaboration with Suzhou University of Science and Technology | 苏州科技大学, Guangzhou Institute of Software Application Technology, and NUCES–FAST. The joint laboratory aims to serve as a hub for research and development in low-carbon intelligent manufacturing, AI-driven innovation, 5G applications, and clean energy systems, strengthening cross-border scientific collaboration under the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) framework.

The establishment of this R&D platform is designed to bridge the gap between academia and industry, enabling research outcomes to be translated into practical solutions that support sustainable industrial growth. By combining expertise from Chinese and Pakistani institutions, the laboratory will provide an environment where innovative technologies can be developed, tested, and deployed across sectors, particularly in areas requiring advanced digital infrastructure and energy-efficient manufacturing processes.

Zong emphasizes that the joint initiative will not only drive technological progress but also nurture the next generation of engineers, researchers, and innovators in Pakistan. Students and researchers at FAST-NUCES will have access to cutting-edge facilities and collaborative projects with international experts, allowing them to contribute to AI and 5G-based industrial solutions while gaining exposure to global best practices in sustainable technology and digital transformation.

This collaboration highlights Zong’s ongoing commitment to fostering innovation and sustainable development in Pakistan’s telecom and technology sectors. Through partnerships like this, Zong aims to enhance the country’s capacity to adopt advanced AI and 5G technologies while supporting low-carbon initiatives that align with broader environmental and industrial goals. The lab will play a central role in accelerating research that can influence real-world applications, from smart manufacturing solutions to energy-efficient industrial systems, helping Pakistan strengthen its position in regional technology innovation.
