Zong, Pakistan’s leading information services and technology innovation company, has completed the pilot launch of its Self-Intelligent Radio Access Network (RAN) Optimization Platform, marking a significant advancement in the development of autonomous network operations. The AI-powered platform introduces intelligent, self-optimizing capabilities that allow the network to detect, analyze

, and address performance issues in real time, reducing the need for manual intervention and improving efficiency during periods of high network traffic. This development aligns with Zong’s ongoing efforts to strengthen Pakistan’s digital infrastructure and deliver reliable connectivity to users nationwide.

The platform incorporates self-healing mechanisms designed to identify congestion points automatically and optimize traffic flow, ensuring consistent data speeds and service quality. Leveraging advanced machine learning algorithms, it dynamically fine-tunes network parameters to enhance coverage and reliability across live operational environments. The pilot, deployed across 82 live sites, has already demonstrated measurable improvements in network performance, including reduced latency, increased resilience, and greater stability in service delivery, which directly benefits end users by maintaining reliable connectivity even during peak usage periods.

According to Waqas Munim, Head of Digital Intelligence at Zong, the pilot represents a major step toward transforming Pakistan’s telecom landscape through intelligent networks. Munim highlighted that AI-driven optimization not only enhances operational efficiency but also ensures a superior customer experience. He emphasized that the successful deployment of the Self-Intelligent RAN Optimization Platform reinforces Zong’s commitment to building a future-ready, resilient digital ecosystem across Pakistan, positioning the company as a leader in autonomous network innovation within the region.

The successful pilot underscores the growing role of AI in telecom infrastructure, as operators increasingly seek automated solutions to manage complex network operations. Zong’s initiative demonstrates how self-optimizing systems can minimize human intervention while improving performance and reliability. By implementing this platform, Zong is not only enhancing its network capabilities but also setting a benchmark for other operators in Pakistan’s telecom sector, reinforcing the importance of innovation and digital intelligence in creating robust, high-performance networks for the country’s growing data demands.

The pilot of Zong’s Self-Intelligent RAN Optimization Platform signals a significant move toward autonomous network operations in Pakistan, showcasing how AI and machine learning can deliver operational efficiency, improved service quality, and a stronger digital experience for users nationwide.
